Towards the end of the summer before I got rid of my atrocious job it got so slow that I started to just sit around and draw things and let the trainees do all the work because screw it, I'd be going to college in like a month. Mostly it was just random stupid things and stuff I was asked to draw (like an elephant - how the hell do those things work?), and the only thing worthy of being colored that came out of all those little escapades was this dragon.
Aegir, in some ways, is indeed a typical Western dragon, as he flies, breathes fire, has spines, and whatever else, but his main problem is that he's small. About fifteen feet from his nose to the tip of his tail, and he's honestly not too interested in fighting even if he'll put one up. He's still constantly pestered by rookie adventurers who can't be bothered to go after bigger wyrms so most of the time he's mildly disgruntled at best due to his inability to catch a break ever.
As for the picture, well, I know some parts of the coloring are honestly quite shoddy but I just wanted to get something out there, and I drew every scale by hand. With a mouse. I just wanted to get it over with.
Most of what I submit for a while will be old things I never finished coloring, until I can either get my own room or a tablet, and I can't be sure when either of those will be so for now just enjoy the backup.
One of the adjectives I use for him is "sharp" so I gave him that style of scales on his underside, and it's supposed to be metallic if you noticed my attempt to do so. >_>

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The photonotes.org Dictionary of Film and Digital Photography is one place to stop and get it all answered. This is quite a valuable resource that explains in depth what a photography term means, and will help those understand who might not know what something is.

I'd like to throw out a comeback from the perspective of the character but this one is actually kind of a wuss, because he's small for a dragon.
But actually I was going for something Norse. >_>
