Artist's Comments

Since I haven't submitted something in a really long time, and I've had this done for a couple weeks now, I figured I'd put it up just for the sheer purpose of doing so. I'd actually been thinking about sharing it for a long time and it's probably best I do it quick since the more I look at this the worse it starts to look.

This is bookmark-shaped because I had a thin strip of paper from a kind of project I started but never followed up on, and because I don't have any good bookmarks (I'm using a couple receipts from other books I bought, and a menu from Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches), I decided to draw something on it. I whipped it up really quick in astronomy, I think we were watching a video about... something really easy.

The coloring I did just as fast since I wasn't exactly intending to submit this anywhere, but at least the Photoshop effect on the metal parts makes it look okay overall.

(The image of the cathedral in the "background" is from Google, just so we're clear on that.)

the metal effect on the armor is very nice...but, it doesn't fit the sword...but still, it's very cool. The main problem is a lack of a definite light source(s).

That's what happens when I make stuff the same color, but on two different layers so I had to do two separate blending effects. n.n;

If I would've known I was gonna actually upload this, I would have put a bit more into the coloring, heh.

A lense flare or two might've helped make the armor more shinier and provide the lightsource, although lenseflares are hard to get to look decent x.x

Nice job detailwise overall though.

Yeah, lens flares can be tricky and seem to be overdoing it a bit if you ask me. It's best to just do the lighting effects by hand, that way the artist has more control.

Thanks for the comment and fave, much appreciated.

Looks good! I really like the design of his armor and your anatomy is getting a lot better.

I'm getting a lot better at designing armor. X3 It looks easy and probably is for some people, but it wasn't for me at first.

Thanks, glad I'm improving enough for it to be noticeable.

I remember you, don't worry. XD And I'm just really, really slow when it comes to art. I check the site every day but I don't submit stuff often.

Thanks for the comment.
