This is just something I sketched really quick-like without the intention of coloring it but I ended up doing so anyway. The practice here wasn't really in drawing, so I decided to at least polish my coloring skills since I haven't done anything in so long. My original intention was just to do the base colors so people could have some sort of color reference for the character, but I ended up liking him so much that I just had to go through with shading it.
The story behind the character is this:
I hang out daily at a place called Off Scale, but half the time it's intolerable because I lack the ability to sit there and type "/me snuggles" repeatedly. As a result I act kind of like a jerk and it's integrated itself into the personalities of my characters that I use there, OR they're just too big on nobility and dignity, which the majority of the furry fandom doesn't posess. Add that to my HUGE aversion to having my size changed and you get an outcast. I needed somebody... "Nicer" to play under. That's not the only reason, though. I was in a character creation kind of mood and I wanted a unique species to fit the black/red/blue color scheme I had come up with. So, after spending a couple of days planning, I came up with Orpheus, the bighorn sheep. Google it, they're those things you see ramming their heads together high up in the mountains.
True to my original idea, he's a LOT more nice and accepting of things than Cal and Cos are. But he still has that "don't mess with me thing" going for him. I sort of tried to capture his overall personality in the picture, nice, but still imposing. Like I'd ever go completely fluffy with any of my characters.
That's all I can come up with for now, and yes, his main weapon is that wrench.
I know, I feel it too. o.o; I think it's that belt, it makes his lower body look long, but... It took me like ten tries just to make it look that right. Sheepy isn't very good at cooperating with his creator. >.>
I think I know the problem, no offence intended but I'm not seeing a bone structure. His arms look a little rubbery. . . . and if you have photoshop try using the dodge and burn tools for shading
Hope that helps. . ..

Eh, you caught me in an off mood so no offence yourself if I don't listen, but... At least you were nice about it and that's my fault, heh. You could be right for all I know. And I've been considering the dodge and burn tools, at first I'll try working with them in comparison to my usual screen/multiply thing.
Glad to know that I've improved in areas I don't even notice half the time. And I did work in simplifying and distributing color schemes more evenly, to give the charcter more of a whole and balanced look overall. Glad you like it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
