A Take on the Issues

Mon Aug 1, 2005, 12:11 AM
Okay, here's my take on the current issues here:

(First FurAffinity, now dA? Aw hell no.)

Yeah, thanks a lot for making drama. Not just who or whatever caused Jark to step down, but the people who're launching all these HUGE things in some effort to get him his administrator's status back. Listen, it's nice and all, but hell, don't take over the entire freaking site. I like to look at the art here on the front page, but not when it's all of the same damn yellow alien with a glowstick. As if submitting endless articles and signing pettitions is gonna change the minds of the site's highest authorities. I'm pretty sure most of these people are just looking for publicity for their work and a sense of belonging by getting involved in something "big".

What troubles me most about this, though, is the feeling that all these people submitting this stuff that gets sent to the front page didn't really tell Jark himself about it. I know they're just sticking up for him, but I for one would ask of his opinion first. From the looks of his journal, the members of the community are making a bigger fuss about it than he is. Come August 7th and I feel like submitting something that isn't yellow, I'll just go and do it. I feel like I'll get my ass kicked for it, but... I don't see the effectiveness in doing what people have planned. I'll probably get my ass kicked for saying this too, anyway.

Nothing's going to last forever, no one's gonna remain the same, and no one's gonna stay in the same place. Sites change, and things happen, end of story. All we can do is just accept it and move on with our lives as artists despite what's going on around us. I came here for the art and so I could monitor my own progress as an artist, and as much as I like to get watched and commented on, my main reason for making this account wasn't for the people. I also find it somewhat odd that an original founder of the site lost his position, but if the people who have been keeping this place running have gotten it this far, then I'm sure there was good reason for it. Jark himself, from what I read in his journal, isn't disclosing a lot of information, and I, for one, am fine with that.

I think Ill just sit this one out from a distance. This is Cal, your ranting... Well, bat furry, and that's all I have to say about that.
